06 Feb, Treaty of Waitangi Day. Walang pasok. With some friends from aklNZpinoys, we went to Hot Water Beach, Coromandel Peninsula.
True to its name, the beach sits on an underground hot spring. You have to dig your own pool (parang lubluban ng kalabaw), hope to find the right “spot”, then enjoy. Pag high-tide natatabunan ng seawater yung spring so best go there when the tide is low.
At first, we dug this big pool. Ang laki at lalim na ng nahuhukay namin pero ang lamig pa din ng tubig. Kainis! May naawang puti, pinalipat kami sa pool nila kasi paalis na sila. So we had our readymade, second-hand pool :)
