Brrrrrrrr.....

Grabe, umabot ng 3degrees dito kaninang umaga. Umaabot pa daw ng zero pag talagang winter na. Nag-yelo yung mga salamin at bubong ng kotse ni Henry. Even the lawn is not spare. Parang may puting kumot na nakatakip sa damuhan nang lumabas ako kaninag 8:30am.

How do people here keep warm? Aside from warm clothing, kailangan ng makapal na kumot. Wa-epek yung mga kumot sa Pinas. Ang mga nakita ko na so far ay duvet and electric blankets. Andyan din ang heater at dehumidifier to keep the room comfy. Medyo tataas lang ang electric bill mo pag lagi kang gumagamitn ng heater at dehumidifier. May nag-tip kay Henry na maglagay daw ng mga bote na may hot water sa ilalim ng duvet blankets. This will keep you warm through the night.

Hi Jinkee,

Patikim pa lang yan!

Anyway, to remove the frost (yung yelo) sa car, pour cold water on the windscreen. DO NOT POUR HOT WATER as it will cause the glass to break.

If you intend to get duvets, try to go for the goose down duvets. May kamahalan pero sulit talaga. Last year hinintay namin na mag-50% off ang The Warehouse at dun kami namili. We also have an electric blanket. Pinapaandar lang namin sya isang oras bago kami matulog. It will make your bed feel warm. Bago kami humiga, pinapatay na namin sya. Yung bote na may hot water, you might be referring to the hot water bottle, which is rubber container na nilalagyan ng mainit na tubig at syang nilalagay sa may paanan. OK din ito. Meron kaming gas heater. Mas matipid kesa sa mga electric heaters. The downside is the water vapour, which is a product of combustion. Medyo masama pag asthmatic ang kids mo.

Anyway, this is your first winter. It's going to be hard, but you'll find that you will survive. Good luck.

welcome to winter. don't worry hindi naman madalas mag below 5 degrees sa auckland. sa hamilton, rotorua, wellington and farther south mas matindi pa.

best way and most economical to stay warm is still to wear proper clothing, and to do some physical activity. i remember noon bago ako pumasok sa shower, mag push-up at jumping jacks muna ako.

anyway, unang winter lang naman mahirap. after this, hahanap-hanapin mo pa ang winter. promise.

Hi Chuchi,

Takot yung asawa kong mag-electric blanket. Baka daw ma-electrocute kami sa pagtulog. hehehe

We do have (oil) heater in the house. Minsan pa lang naming ginamit kasi malakas daw sa kuryente.

G,
Feeling ko nga mas mahirap ang malamig kesa mainit. At least dyan sa Singapore di masyadong problema ang clima.

KU, Nagju-jumping jack din ako bago maligo =D I hope we'll get used to the weather soon.... bago ako manguluntoy.
