The actual driving test

Due to insistent public demand (mga hmmmm..... isa yon), I'm sharing my practical driving test experience.

3 parts yung test. First deals with basic driving skills. Second, identifying driving hazards. And lastly, driving in high speed zone.

Pero bago magsimula yung test, iche-check muna ng examiner yung indicators (signal lights) at brake lights. Tapos non, sakay na sa kotse.

1- Basic driving skills. The examiner, Ross, gave me instructions on where I should go. Nandyan yung sasabihin nyang liko ako sa kanan, liko sa kaliwa, diretso, etc. Tinitignan nya kung sinusunod ko ang paggamit ng indicator, give-way rule, mirror check (every 10 seconds), use of turning bay, etc.

2- Identifying hazards. Ano nga ba ang driving hazards? These are the vehicles and people that comes or might come along your way. Pinapunta nya ako sa limang intersections. Paglagpas namin sa bawat intersection, pinahihinto nya ako para isa-isahin ko sa kanya yung mga na-encounter kong hazards. Sablay ako nung una kasi di ko nabanggit yung old lady na naglalakad malapit intersection. Kahit pala di akmang tatawid, potential hazard din pala si lola.

3 - Driving in high speed zone. Henry did his in the motorway. Mine was in the Hibiscus Coast Highway. Nakupo, curvaceous yung kalsada at bangin ang gilid. Sinabihan ako ni Ross na mag-over ng 5 sa maximum speed limit na 80kph para daw ma-assess nya kung pano ko yon iha-handle. Pumalag ako oong una kasi sabi ko madaming kurbada yung daan. Sabi nya bahala daw ako. Saglit lang akong ng 85kph tapos I maintained 65kph. Siguro tama yung ginawa ko.

Tips. Ensure that your car is roadworthy. Do drive around the area before the actual exam so that you'll get familiar with the road conditions. Don't place your thumbs inside the steeringwheel, dapat nasa ibabaw lang. When changing lane at high speed area, make sure to do a head check and indicate more than the required 3 seconds.
